Is anyone really surprised? This is borderline Trump selling his support, and reinforces that his endorsement is transactional - what's in it for Trump - rather than being based upon any lofty ideals such as wanting ideological soulmates elected.

Candidates who normally would expect fundraising help from the top are being asked to subsidize the top of the ticket. Crazy.
