TIL about Benjamin Lay. An 18th century vegetarian and abolitionist, he "created his own clothes to boycott all commodities produced by the exploitation of others, including animals. ... [H]e kidnapped the child of slaveholders temporarily, to show them how Africans felt when their relatives were sold overseas. ... Four Quaker meetings disowned Lay for his inconvenient campaigning."
