every time there's any kind of problem/scandal anywhere, an influencer will seize on the mere presence of a POC/woman, and then some federal govt agency will turn that into an investigation.

At some point businesses will assume hiring women/POC is not worth it - even if they're the best candidate.

Which is, I assume, the point. It's the point now, it's just that the objectors don't quite have the institutional power to follow through.
